Most news about game providers getting PAGCOR approval isn’t really for players. It’s industry jargon, B2B announcements that don’t mean much to someone just looking for a good scatter game on a Friday night. This one’s different, though, because Playson brings mechanics you haven’t seen on most Philippine casino lobbies yet.
Playson got PAGCOR certified in May 2026, making the Philippines their 27th regulated market globally. The approval came through Light & Wonder, a massive casino technology aggregator that essentially acts as a distribution bridge between game developers and casino platforms. What Is Playson?
Playson is a Malta-based company founded in 2012. They have over 100 games in their library, and 42 million players across their global network. It is not a name most Pinoy players would recognize the way they know JILI or Pragmatic, but they’ve been building a serious reputation internationally. For example, they won Game of the Year at the 2025 iGB Affiliate Awards and Slot Supplier of the Year at the 2023 EGR B2B Awards. Playson’s games look and feel different from what’s in most Philippine lobbies right now. Let’s take a look.
The Solar Series
Solar Queen is their flagship. Egyptian queen theme (yes, another Egyptian scatter…). The mechanic is what makes it interesting, though. It runs on a 10-spin cycle called “Flaming Frames”. Every time a Sun symbol lands anywhere, it leaves a burning frame behind. That frame stays locked for the full 10-spin cycle. When spin 10 arrives, every frame you collected fills with Wilds at once, so there’s a built-in countdown, a moment you’re always working toward. It’s different from scatter tumbles where wins just happen randomly. You can see the tension building over those 10 spins, which makes the game extra sticky.
Solar Temple and Solar King are upgraded versions of the same idea, with more sticky Wilds and better animation.
